WE’RE HIRING!
Social Worker – Community Building
October 2026
The Eurasian Association (EA) is looking for a committed and proactive Social Worker – Community Building to strengthen connections within the Eurasian community and empower individuals and families to thrive.
This role goes beyond traditional casework. You will take a holistic, community-centred approach to supporting families across EA’s programmes and pillars, helping them access the right support, participate in community life and build self-reliance, confidence and resilience.
Working closely with EA colleagues, volunteers and community partners, you will help develop integrated services, strengthen referral networks and create meaningful opportunities for individuals and families to connect, contribute and grow.
Key Responsibilities
Family Support and Community Navigation
Conduct light-touch assessments to understand individuals’ and families’ needs, circumstances and strengths, identify risks and determine appropriate support.
Provide relationship-based support, practical guidance and social work intervention where appropriate, while connecting individuals and families to relevant EA programmes and external services.
Facilitate warm referrals to government agencies, Family Service Centres, Social Service Offices, schools, healthcare providers and specialist services, and follow up to support continued engagement.
Identify emerging needs early and coordinate appropriate responses with EA colleagues, volunteers and partner agencies, including escalation to specialist services where necessary.
Maintain timely, accurate and confidential records, and contribute to service planning and evaluation.
Community Building and Participation
Proactively reach out to vulnerable or socially isolated individuals and families, including those not currently engaged with EA, and connect them with appropriate support and opportunities.
Engage individuals and families in EA’s programmes, activities and interest groups, fostering social connection, participation, belonging and stronger community ties.
Develop opportunities for youth, families, seniors, volunteers and former beneficiaries to participate, contribute and remain connected to EA across different stages of life, including through mentoring, volunteer engagement and intergenerational initiatives. Mobilise volunteers, community partners and existing networks to strengthen community connections and community participation.
Partnerships and Integrated Services
Establish and maintain two-way referral pathways with government agencies, social service organisations, schools, healthcare providers and community partners, connecting individuals and families to specialist services where needed, while facilitating handshakes to EA’s networks and support.
Promote awareness of EA’s programmes and community support among partner agencies, identify opportunities for collaboration, and encourage appropriate referrals into EA.
Work with colleagues across education, heritage, sports, community programmes and family support to create connected pathways for support, participation and volunteer involvement.
Help colleagues and volunteers identify emerging needs, make appropriate referrals and apply consistent safeguarding, documentation and follow-up practices.
Monitor outcomes such as referral completion, repeat engagement, social connectedness, participation and contribution, and use these insights to improve EA’s programmes and partnerships.
Requirements
